On March 30, 2016 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued final regulations that dictates how Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs), the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Medicaid Alternative Benefit Plans (ABPs) must comply with the Federal Parity Law
. These regulations very closely mirror the final regulations for commercial plans that were issued jointly by the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, and Treasury in November of 2013.
